Jamnagar is blessed with the most beautiful coastal wetland ecosystems, due to vast diversity of habitats like salt pans, fresh water welands, plenty of mangrove areas and coastal belt makes this place perfect for coastal bird to stay during winter.
Check list of bird species record at Jamnagar is 300+, if you are a birding enthusiast or a keen birdwatcher this trip will be adding lots of new species to your checklist.

In India, Jamnagar is the only place where huge flocks of Crab Plovers can be seen, except Jamnagar you can find this beauty in Gulf of Munnar only but only few in numbers.

Trip Brief:
three days of intense birding and photography at various locations at Jamnagar. During this time we will explore Khijadiya bird sanctuary, Narara Marine National Park and Murmuration of rosy starling at Jamnagar.

Birding Hot-spot 1: Khijadiya Bird Sanctuary
Khijadiya Bird Sanctuary is a unique wetland area with sea water on one side and fresh water on one side. This area which is about 12 km from Jamnagar (Gujarat), was declared as a Sanctuary on 6th November 1982. The area of this Sanctuary is 8 km. There are 6 Watch Tower for bird watching , One can find both types of sea and shore birds. Watching the arrival of the Cranes during sunset for roosting is a fantastic experience. Some of the notable birds found here are Black neck stork,great crested Grebe, Shikara, Lazer spoted eagle, Black Ibis, Black-winged Kite, Brahminy Kite, Pheasant-tailed Jacana, Great Thick-knee, Common Greenshank, Grey Francolin, Imperial Eagle, Indian Pond Heron, Little Tern, Black-tailed Godwit, Comb Duck, Common Crane, Common Teal, Dunlin, Garganey, Marsh Harrier, Northern Pintail,
Shoveler, Eurasian Wigeon, Pale Harrier, Demoiselle & common Crane, cormorants and Darters. And the other wild life found here are Blue Bulls, Jackal, Jungle Cat, Mongoose, Indian hare and snakes etc.

Birding Hot-spot 2: Narara Island, Marine National Park, Jamnagar
The Marine National Park – Jamnagar, is the one of the rich wildlife sanctuaries in Gujarat offers ideal showcase of diverse varieties of marine life in Gujarat and also in India that include the islands like Pirotan, Narara, Positra, Ajad, Kalubhar and others more than 35 islands where one can enjoy the marine bio diversity like verity of coral rief, marine fish, octopus, star fish, jelly fish etc.., andrich birding like crab plovers, Flamingoes, Pelican, and other verity of waders and gulls & turns.This sanctuary offers extensive wild view offer for the wildlife enthusiasts. Marine Sanctuary and National Park is located in the Gulf of Kutch, Jamnagar district in Gujarat.

Reporting at Jamnagar
Hotel Check-in
Lunch: 12:30 pm
Evening Bird watching & Photography: 2:00 pm
Dinner: 9:00 pm
Group discussion with expert guidelines 9.30 to 11.00pm

Day 2:
Wakeup call with coffee/ tea followed by Safari at 5:00 am
Khijadiya Bird Sanctuary bird-watching: 6:00 am
Tea and Breakfast on way.
Lunch on way
Khijadiya Bird Sanctuary & nearby wetlands: 3:00 pm
Dinner: 9:00 pm
Group discussion cum workshop 9.30 to 11.00pm

Day 3:
Narara Marine National park as per tide time table
Full day birding & Photography.
Tea and Breakfast on way.
Lunch on way.
Refreshments with group photograph and check-out at 7pm

Cost & Terms

You have to follow all the rules and regulations of Forest departments and also have to follow all the rules of Gujarat too & all terms and condition are applicable.

Includes: Local transfers during the tour, accommodation on twin sharing basis, All meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and hot beverages (coffee/tea) for Tour duration, guide charges, National Park entry/permit charges wherever applicable.

Excludes: Travel to Jamnagar and back, Camera charges (₹ 200, Per camera per safari) and any kind of personal expenses that are not included in above Includes list.

– If there is any extra requirements rather then above, you have to inform us about the same at time of registration & will be charged extra.
